It’s official. Super Saiyan Kyoga Nakamura is a Sailor. Here is a quick note on what he will bring to LC$:
- (+) Small space ball retention and control.
Bounce passes, no-look passes, and other technical on-the-ball qualities make Nakamura hard to press — a critical asset to beef up LCS’s first phase short build-up plays.
- (+) Long-range passing from midfield.
LCS already has mulitple centre backs with long-range passing capabilities. Adding Nakamura in midfield extends the boundary of long-range attacks closer to the opposition goal.
- (+) Playing for club and country.
Expect the highest standards of professionalism from a relatively new Singapore international, with a whole nation just getting to know him. A settled family life in Singapore will also boost his on pitch performances.
- (+) Photogenicality and marketability.
Just put him next to Helix at every club event. Game over.
- (=) Spectacular outside-of-the-box goals.
Highlight reel material when they happen, but too infrequent to be counted on across a campaign.
- (-) Big space defending and set-piece threat in the box.
Not physically big enough to be a consistent interceptor or tackler of the ball.
