You are here today because your peers recognise your individual qualities, both on and off the pitch. You are here because your coaches depend on you to lead your teams, physically and spiritually. But what are you here for? What do stars do? They shine. You are here to shine. You are here to shine for the teammates who adore you. You are here to shine for the fans who have yet to know you. You are here to shine for the next generation of players, who will one day say, “That’s who I want to be when I grow up”. Ladies, it’s time to shine. So, shine.
